In case you are wondering what is the piece of map for, and why Xiao Yan has been collecting pieces of it throughout the story, it is because the whole map shows the location of when the third ranked Heavenly Flame. the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame, will appear, not that it really mattered since everyone knew where it will appear, Xiao Yan felt disappointed when he found out that with or without the map people can still find the location, however what Xiao Yan didnt know was that the map itself also held a secret that benefited only the holder of the map, but you wont be able to see this event for a long long time, probably another 12 years time if they keep the pace at one volume per season lol


Although the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame is ranked third, it's power doesnt lose out to the second ranked Heavenly flame

Heh, they just skipped like 10 chapters or so from finale of last season and start of this one. Kind of felt like when they skipped Yunyun encounter just to be in special, except here is no noteworthy content

I really didn't expect them to cut the Skyfire skill history explanation. That is one of more interesting plot clues for the later story. One could only think there will be special about that later

Studios often do weird things, regardless of how well or bad they animate the novel, their decisions to add or remove content from the source material and add fillers sometimes really baffles me.

Maybe in this case they though "oh spoiler" let's not explain too much and leave it for later like you said lol

Well, ending of WDQK starts in "Ice Spirit Tribe" short novel (as far as I know complementary short story of Fire Spirit Tribe for BTTH does not exists yet) and then gets really satisfactory ending in TGR (The Great Ruler). Not only you see Lin Dong (and Xiao Yan) reaching highest level "The Great Ruler" (or level 3 God in Yuan) you also see the story of Lin Dong/Ying Huanhuan daughter Lin Qing (awesome character constantly on hyper drugs, lol) as well as daughter of Xiao Yan/Medusa called Xiao Xiao

The 5 stories pretty much tell the story of how fiends get from antagonists to protagonist. In BTTH Hun clan already makes their clan members as hybrids possessing some of fiend powers (they do that to conform better with broken energy contaminated by fiends in order to be able to supplement missing energy needed for Dou Di level) and they get utterly destroyed by Xiao Yan. In TGR fiends create real half human/half fiend hybrids as fighting slaves. In Heaven's List protagonist is a descendant of that hybrid race which was defeated by Mu Chen

Also, highest level in lower realms is equal to higher realm perfect Earth Sovereign (Symbol Ancestor in WDQK and Dou Sheng level 9 in BTTH) while ascension means Heavenly Sovereign (Dou Di=HS)

I would really suggest to pick up Dragon Prince Yuan first before TGR, otherwise you might get stuck with wtf on 40000 year past plot. Reading Yuan... all will make sense and after TGR... Heaven's List (also ending to TGR and there are grandchildren of Lin Dong and Xiao Yan as well)

Well, Dragon Prince Yuan is in separate universe created by Dragon God (original universe of saints/fiends). Universe consists of 12 equal heavens which only deviate by amount of contamination which is not known until late in the story. After saint god was killed by yuan, saints escaped in universe called 3000 worlds (all other novels) which consists of lots of lower (chinese use 3000 for infinite) realms and one main realm (TGR and THL). By default all lower planes possessed energy which is suitable for ascension to main plane, but energies are different which is why those who ascend are treated as special since they have original energies and main plane energy. If you look at WDQK they have yuan+mental energy, in BTTH there is advanced alchemy.

When fiends got into the universe they separated to invade all planes in 3000 worlds and those who went to lower level planes are basically low level minions and no royals (DPY explains royals which not only have cultivation, but also innate special powers), while son of god. royals and top clans invaded main plane.

And contamination of world energy is reason why planes could not support ascension anymore. There simply isn't the right energy for final level

Xiao xiao is only unparalleled at beginning, since she is born as Dou Zong already. At the end of the TGR she is Heavenly Sovereign, which is followed by Immortal Heavenly Sovereign, Saint Heavenly Sovereign, Ranker (equal to level 2.5 god in DPY=son of saint god) and The Great Ruler (equal to level 3 god in DPY=yuan, saint god, dragon god)... so.... far, from Mu Chen. At the end of the BTTH she is still baby and is at Dou Sheng level (Earth Sovereign) once Xiao Yan triggers clan bloodline. And she is also 20000 years old in TGR... but, she spent most of it in hybernation

Also worth mentioning. WDQK plane originally didn't have mental power, that was done by Symbol Ancestor (who in reality was nothing but failure from main plane who was stuck at perfect Earth Sovereign and the reason he descended is the fact that he was seeking new avenues which would enable promotion). Mental master is pretty much bastardized from main planes array master and battle formation master, but in the end it is not inferior. Array master and battle formation master are more powerful, but one is slow and barely usable during battle and one requires gigantic armies. Mental master only depends on self and it is fast and flexible
